Our client is currently seeking an AIM Technical Writer to work with the team on the initial phase of an Asset Information Management project.
Our client has developed an executable roadmap to guide the Company toward establishing an Asset Information Management (AIM) framework to manage and sustain asset information over the lifecycle of the asset.
The development of the roadmap included an assessment of the company's current AIM standards; attached is the summary of the findings.
Our client’s next step is to develop new and / or refine existing AIM Standards and Business Processes. Support the project goals through effective communication.Research : Gather and analyze information from subject matter experts, existing documents, and other relevant sources.
Writing : Create clear, concise, and accurate technical content.Editing : Review and revise drafts to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guides.
Formatting : Ensure documents are properly formatted according to company standards or project requirements.Proofreading : Check for grammatical, spelling, and typographical errors.
Collaboration : Work with project stakeholders, developers, and subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and completeness.
Updates : Revise and update documentation as needed based on feedback or changes in project requirements.Technical Writer : Responsible for writing, editing, and finalizing documentation.
Client / Stakeholders : Provide subject matter expertise, feedback, and review.Project Manager : Oversee the project timeline, deliverables, and communication.
Adherence to company style guides and formatting requirements.Consistency and accuracy in technical content.Timely submission of drafts and final documents.
Requirements : Bachelor’s Degree in a related field such as Technical Writing, Information Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration.
4+ years of experience in technical writing or documentation management, preferably within asset information management, engineering, or information systems domains.
Experience with standardization processes, such as the development of document and asset tagging standards, would be highly beneficial.
Experience in Information Management or Document Control : Familiarity with document management systems (DMS), metadata standards, and asset lifecycle management processes is key.
Technical Writing Skills : Demonstrated experience in writing and editing technical documents, process workflows, and standards, ensuring they are clear, accurate, and adhere to company standards.
Familiarity with Engineering Standards and Asset Management : Understanding of controlled engineering records, project records, vendor records, and operations and maintenance records.
Proficiency in Documenting Business Processes : Creating and refining business processes for managing tags, documents, and project information handover.
Experience with Collaboration Tools : Use of tools such as SharePoint, Confluence, or other DMS platforms for collaboration with teams and stakeholders.
