Power BI Data Analyst
Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Power BI Data Analyst with extensive Power BI and Power Automate experience, strong SQL and ETL capabilities, and solid ServiceNow platform UI for reporting and dashboarding knowledge to place at our client, a Big Five Bank.
Terms : 12‑month contract.
Location : Hybrid or Remote – Downtown Toronto (1‑2x / month).

Ideal Candidate
- Ability to learn the processes so that they can define the right metrics that can tell a story.
- Ability to select the right graphs or charts that provide meaningful visualization.
- Ability to build Power BI reports from multiple data sources, including automation into a data staging (centralized repository).
- Data files can come in multiple data formats.
- Data is often not perfect; ability to massage data and make judgement calls to produce the needed reports / visuals.
- General understanding / knowledge of helpdesk operations is a bonus.
- Team player and fit to the team is important.
Job Description
Designs dashboards and analyses, selecting appropriate visualization and analytics tools to identify trends and patterns, and providing insights through reporting and data visualization techniques.Builds various reporting dashboards using the most appropriate data extraction, data cleaning and data visualization techniques.Provides value through insights, reporting and data visualization techniques, selecting, configuring and implementing analytics solutions for consistency and repeatability.Researches and applies continuous improvement in data visualization by identifying trends and patterns to transform raw data into actionable business insights.Works with different teams, management and stakeholders to enhance usability and aesthetic appeal of data analytics solutions deployed in the organization.Translates business needs to technical specifications and evaluates existing data visualization systems to improve them.Develops data visualizations of large amounts of data that facilitate intuitive presentation to decision makers.Documents data flow, systems and processes to improve design, implementation and management of business / group processes.Develops tools and delivers training programs for use of reporting tools and self‑serve analytics by non‑analytical end users.Focus is primarily on business / group within the bank; may have broader enterprise‑wide focus.Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.Key Technologies
