Overview
The Clinical Respiratory Consultant provides all respiratory services with a focus on Sleep Diagnostics and Therapeutics to the client while collaborating with referring physicians and ensuring patient safety. The incumbent will work directly with all clients, referral sources and funding agencies to deliver high quality clinical evidence based care. The role also involves continuously growing the overall business through excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Conduct appointments and set-up of equipment for sleep diagnostic testing based on American Academy Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines.
Evaluate client therapies based on referrals and determine respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians.
Initiate PAP therapy when prescribed, providing patients with education, instructions of use, and cleaning and maintaining of their equipment.
Provide appropriate regular follow-up to clients to evaluate effects of therapeutic care, recommending adjustments and modifications if required to increase compliance and comfort with therapy.
Actively promote related products and provide solutions to client needs.
Maintain up-to-date continuing education related to the position to ensure clients receive current therapies and devices.
Recognize the importance of client safety within the Air Liquide Healthcare organization.
Follow established company protocols for cleaning and disinfection of all equipment.
Complete all required administration tasks.
Maintain knowledge of all funding processes and systems.
Ensure quality documentation through completion of all company documentation and forms (both digital and non-electronic) as per policy.
Maintain client confidentiality and protect Air Liquide Healthcare’s operations by keeping information confidential.
Seek continuous improvement of the branch operation by evaluating processes and workflow, and participating in other quality improvement activities.
Provide new staff and student instruction, supervision and evaluation when necessary.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse or RPN / LPN.
CPSGT, RPSGT or CCSH.
College Certificate or Diploma in a Technical / Medical Science field where permitted.
Licensed to practice with the provincial governing body.
Good knowledge of obstructive sleep apnea and CPAP therapy.
Working knowledge of Microsoft, Google applications and Android.
