The Lead Negotiator PharmaceuticalPartnerships plays a key role in driving the companysPharmaceutical Partnerships strategy.
This position focuses onmanaging relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers andnegotiating Product Listing Agreements (PLAs).
Collaborating withthe inhouse clinical team and external partners the Lead Negotiatorensures the alignment of formulary changes with client objectives.
The role also involves overseeing the daytoday execution of PLAs tosupport seamless operations and agreement fulfillment.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Collaborate crossfunctionally with internalteams and external pharmaceutical manufacturer partnersparticularly within Market Access.
- Stayinformed on market trends public policy and the competitivelandscape affecting pharmaceuticalreimbursement.
- Lead and manage the entire PLAnegotiation process including strategy negotiations and contractingfor specific drug therapies to support the financial sustainabilityof drug plans.
- Align with carrier strategies todeliver impactful PLAs across provincial regulatoryframeworks.
- Coordinate legal and businessreviews of negotiated agreements and assist with contractinterpretation audits and invoicing.
- Draft andreview legally binding agreements asneeded.
- Deliver annual PLA forecasts withinbudget parameters.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceuticalmarket access pharmacy health insurance or benefitsmanagement.
- A university degree in PharmacyBusiness Science or a related field is preferred; a clinicalbackground is a strong asset.
- Bilingualproficiency in English and French is a significantadvantage.
Required Knowledge Skills andAbilities :
- Expertisein market access the benefits / insurance industry value propositiondevelopment and drug reimbursement processes in both public andprivate sectors.
- Strong understanding of publicpolicy and provincial regulations with knowledge of Canadianpharmaceutical landscapes and Pharmacy BenefitManagement.
- Excellent communication skills withthe ability to deliver professionalpresentations.
- Strong negotiation andinfluencing skills to effectively manage stakeholderrelationships.
- Ability to manage multiplepriorities while maintaining a high level of analytical andbusiness acumen.
- Established relationships withpharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers are aplus.
