The Team

The Marine Branch is an established, close-knit team of approximately 10 professionals, bringing diverse expertise and experience to its work in the Victoria office. This team is responsible for a unique combination of operational and capital asset management functions, playing a vital role in the oversight of the province's inland and coastal ferry system. Ferry services are an essential component of BC's integrated transportation infrastructure, facilitating the movement of goods and people, connecting communities, and supporting both local businesses and tourism by ensuring access across the province.

The Role

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead capital projects that directly impact the province's ferry services, which are a vital part of BC's transportation network. You'll guide projects from development through to completion, managing everything from resourcing and procurement to budgeting and stakeholder partnerships. By overseeing the delivery of new and renewed vessels and terminal infrastructure, you'll help ensure the ongoing reliability of services that connect communities, support businesses, and allow visitors to explore BC. This is also a pivotal time for technological innovation in ferry services, with opportunities to contribute to sustainable energy solutions and greenhouse gas reduction efforts. If you're looking for a role that combines leadership, collaboration, and a meaningful impact on BC's marine transportation system, this is an exciting opportunity to make a difference for both today's and future generations.
