Thisposition will be based in the Ottawa ON Ofce.

EBCis actively seeking an Assistant Project Manager for our OntarioBuilding Division where he / she can utilize their extensiveknowledge to contribute to the continued success and growth of theorganization.

Reportingto the Project Manager the Assistant Project Manager is responsiblefor ensuring that the project is completed safely on schedule andin compliance with the contract and job costestimates.

KeyResponsibilities :

  • Assistthe PM in the overall planning and scheduling of project includingmonitoring andreporting.
  • Assist thePM in all functions and operations of project including compliancewith local legislative and labourrequirements.
  • Ensures that Companypolicies and procedures are followed in all aspects of projectexecution.
  • Manage and coordinateproject within budgets.
  • Assist thePM in preparing the project cost status reports in terms of percentcomplete cost to date and costforecast.
  • Identify project concernsand alert management of potential risks on assigned projects.Develop a plan to minimize detrimental impacts and mitigaterisks.
  • Monitor the overall progressof the project on an ongoing basis and takes corrective actionwhere necessary.
  • Assist the PM inpreparing budgets forecasts and reduce risk through managing scopeand contract change.
  • Ensure that allscope and contract changes are submitted and approved by theclient.
  • Responsible forimplementing and monitoring of the Company s Safety Policy andProgram.
  • Responsible forimplementing and monitoring of the Company s Quality AssuranceProgram and relatedrequirements.
  • Manpower acquisitionEquipment Management and Materialprocurement.
  • Assist the PM in themanagement of all aspects of subcontractor work execution andcontracts.
  • Preparation of progressbillings.
  • Assist in the collectionof outstanding payments.
  • Carry outsite safetyinspections.

Requirements

  • Minimum3 5 years of industry experience.
  • Technicalbackground with professional accreditation (P.Eng. / CET) orcombination of technical training and / or related experience.
  • Readanalyze and interpret technical designdrawings.
  • Scheduling experience andanalysis skills.
  • Computerproficiency.
  • Written / oralcommunications.
  • Presentationskills.
  • Problem solving andorganizational skills.
  • Cost analysiscontrol and reporting.
  • ContractsCommercial knowledge.
  • Negotiatingskills.

  • Related job experience of 5 years in construction supervision,working on heavy civil construction projects; Advanced skills inmanagement, negotiation, communication and problem solving;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work;Knowledge of office management systems and administrativeprocedures;

Basic math, accounting, and finance skills; Bilingual(an asset), but proficiency in English language with excellentcommunication skills (written and verbal) is required.
