Job Responsibilities

Internal Title : Consulting III)

  • Support Environmental Compliance programs on the Project
  • Provide technical and administrative assistance on environmental policies and programs which bear critical importance to overall program objectives
  • Perform day-to-day project-specific tasks and duties as planned and identified for the project in area of specialty
  • Planning for and executing appropriate means and methods in area of specialty to complete the assigned task and duties on medium-sized projects or medium-sized project elements to larger projects or program from inception through to completion
  • Review mapping of environmentally sensitive areas and determine potential impact due to construction activities
  • Review and ensure adherence to the scope, schedule and budget in area of specialty
  • Evaluate project effectiveness in area of specialty by consulting with clients and project staff
  • Work in collaboration with stakeholders to develop, implement and manage an environmental strategy
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations in area of specialty, to project team and client team
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and mitigate / manage environmental risks
  • Consult with appropriate agencies regarding environmental issues and monitor regulations
  • Inspection of project sites to ensure environmental compliance with the regulatory standard and procedures
  • Monitor, log and report on environmental requirements of the Project
  • Ensure environmental services staff compliance with client and provincial policies and procedures
  • Record site conditions, produce KPIs based on monitoring activities
  • Consult with the assigned Project Supervisor to seek guidance and input during the key phases of a project
  • Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications Required

Education :

Undergraduate Degree in pertinent field

Licenses or Certifications :

Certified in recognized certification or certificate of training in area of specialty where such exists

Experience :

  • 8+ years of experience in consulting in area of specialty
  • Experience working with Provincial (Ontario) and Federal environmental regulatory agencies and knowledge of Municipal, Provincial and Federal regulatory requirement

Skills and Competencies :

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Expert in other consulting-related software applicable to area of specialty
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • In-depth understanding of prevailing consulting means and methods in area of specialty
  • Ability to effectively lead a small team in area of specialty
