Description :

The Saanich Police Department is recruiting for an Exhibit / Property Control Coordinator for a permanent full-time role.

This position catalogues and stores all matters relating to non-police property coming into possession of the Police Department as a consequence of being found property, an exhibit for court, a drug, firearms, or liquor seizure, or property for safekeeping.

The successful candidate will organize and maintain the exhibit submission and storage areas, the control of property held therein, the discharge and disposal of property as required, and the maintenance of accurate records of all property held and related transactions on the Exhibit / Property Control system.

The position maintains all necessary records in accordance with current legislation and departmental rules.

Requirements for this position include completion of Grade 12; three years of office experience working in a police environment including experience with court and CPIC related information;

and proficiency in MS Office Suites for word processing, spreadsheets, email systems, and database applications; as is familiarity with the inquiry functions of various local, provincial, and national police information systems.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a valid course and obtain a certificate to become a Firearms Verifier within 3 months of starting the position.

The successful candidate must not be the subject of a prohibition order issued pursuant to Section of the Criminal Code of Canada while employed in this position.

The successful candidate must also pass and maintain the required enhanced reliability security clearance and polygraph.

Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday from 8 : 00 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m. (35 hours per week).
