What is the opportunity? In this role, you will be managing strategic projects in the Global Functions Technology team, focused on Risk, Compliance & Data portfolio.
You will be leading concurrent projects utilizing shared resources, with aggressive timelines. The project methodology being followed is both Agile and Iterative Waterfall.
What will you do?
- Lead, direct and oversee activities on planning, delivery and implementation to ensure enterprise-wide program strategic goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scope and budget.
- Lead team & liaison with RBC business and service partners, including external third party vendors.
- Work directly with Risk & Compliance Change Management and across business partners.
- Manage programs with high amounts of value (benefit / cost), complexity and uncertainty, or manage sub-programs within a very large program.
- Translate the project vision into program high-level scope, design, and executables.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise-wide Business & IT Architecture.
- Develop, monitor and execute project plans and coordinate timely execution of major milestones, approvals, sign-offs, and implementation.
- Coordinate the release of deliverables, mitigating any risks & issues.
- Regularly report progress of project status, milestones, achievements, RAID and budgetary standing in both formal (e.g.
Executive Steering Committee) and informal settings.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment and technology.
- Actively manage all vendor deliverables for the project.
- Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders & users.
- Coach and mentor individual project managers who have a direct reporting line and / or contribute to the program.
- In conjunction with business partners, develop and present project business cases to the appropriate approval committees.
- Provide regular risk assessments and work with Operational Risk team on mitigation strategies and monitoring.
What do you need to succeed?
- Must Have : Experience in managing delivery of application development programs of approx. $5MM to 20MM annual spend of high complexity, managing project scope, time, cost and quality in a matrix environment.
- High level of general management skills, including leading, negotiating, communicating and team building.
- Must have experience in running Agile and Iterative projects.
- A minimum of 10 years success as an IT project manager, with proven people management skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Project & PowerPoint.
Nice to Have :
- Experience with Risk, Compliance & Data strategy projects.
- Experience working in Financial Institutions.
- Experience using PlanView & JIRA.
- Advanced Visio knowledge.
