Warehouse Associate - Modern Sales Co-op (MB)

Modern Sales Co-op has been a leader in the distribution industry since 1935. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a dynamic individual to fill a Warehouse Associate position at our Winnipeg, Manitoba location.

Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the position is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of parts in the distribution center.

This includes but is not limited to : shipping and receiving, stocking product, inventory management, replenishing, picking and packing, as well as other general duties as required.

Warehouse Associate

Key Responsibilities :

• Prepares and completes orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule
• Inspect products for defects and report any discrepancies
• Unloads and moves products and materials by using material handling equipment, ensuring efficient turnaround times
• Picks customer orders accurately as per RF Gun list and / or manual ordering system, ensuring productivity standards are achieved
• Operates warehouse vehicles and equipment, as per company policies and procedures
• Minor inventory control; inspects products for defects and reports any discrepancies to the Distribution Manager
• Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with organization policies, procedures and standards, as well as all applicable health and safety rules and regulations
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
• Performs general warehouse duties as may be required

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following :

• Completion of high school or vocational equivalent
• Minimum 1-year warehousing experience in a similar role
• Forklift / Power Jack knowledge is considered an asset
• Proficiency in shipping and inventory software, databases and systems
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Familiar with RF scanning technology
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs
• Ability to bend / crouch, climb stairs, and safely use ladders in order to retrieve materials and products
• Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written English) skills
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
• Ability to work cohesively with employees and managers as part of a team
