Transportation Business Group Leader
As the BGL (Business Group Leader) for Transportation, you will work closely with the
Western Canadian General Manager, the Western Canada Operations Manager, and our
Western Canadian Transportation Market Leader to deliver design and engineering
projects. The Transportation BGL will also support bids and proposals to help develop and
grow GHD’s presence and market share in the delivery of engineering and design services.
The role will provide leadership in developing and delivering a range of design projects and
also leading and mentoring a team of engineers, project managers and technical
specialists.

Responsibilities
Developing and supporting business opportunities, and ensuring sustainable growth of the Transportation services
Managing Business Group performance, people, and resources
Providing vision and direction for the Western Canada business that links with our North American market strategy, and input into the Region Market Strategy
Being well-connected and influential, building and developing relationships with the other Regional BGLs and supporting relationships with existing and potential clients and partners, with a focus on engineering and design services
Providing leadership to the Business Group in line with our values and objectives
Building effective relationships with other Regional Transportation Business Group Leaders and with Market Leaders within and outside the Region
Qualifications
15+ years professional experience within an engineering consultancy
Professional engineering designation
Demonstrated technical capability across your area of technical expertise, including
all project phases from project planning, to detailed design and construction services
Effective & proven project delivery, networking and relationship management skills
Ability to develop lasting internal and external relationships based on trust and
delivery excellence
Proven background in delivering projects from proposal to completion
Proven background of managing a design delivery organization
Detailed knowledge of various types of delivery methods for various markets
Ability to mentor and train team members
Provide project delivery leadership, in the delivery of engineering and design
services and supporting all project phases
