We are a full-service Mechanical, Electrical and ICAT Engineering Firm, offering Professional Engineering Services through all phases of a Project : from early Master Planning to Detailed Design and Bid Document preparation, right though to Construction and Contract Administration;

in both the traditional and alternative finance and procurement (AFP) project delivery models.

Position Description :

This exciting opportunity in our Ottawa office will provide you with the opportunity to join our team to work on our high profile projects and act as a Project Engineer within the Electrical Engineering Group on both new construction and re-model projects.

You will apply your engineering knowledge on project work from conceptual design through completion in the following areas : commercial, retail and institutional buildings.

Technical quality, cost effectiveness, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing guidance to a team of designers are integral parts of this role

Responsibilities and Duties :

• A minimum of 5 years experience with the design of electrical systems in commercial buildings.
• Expertise will include high, medium, and low voltage distribution and protection, lighting, dimming control, emergency and standby / critical power, grounding, lightning protection, data and voice communication, electronic sub-metering and fire alarm systems.
• LEED certification and experience with multi-disciplinary projects including Architectural, Mechanical, Structural and Communication systems will set you apart from your peer group.

• Experienced in representation at design coordination meetings.
• Experienced at construction phase review, progress draw reviews, change notice preparation, quotation reviews.

Qualifications :

• University degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
• Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
• P.Eng designation preferred. Will consider candidates who are close to reaching their designation
