Job Description

Position : B Pressure Welder (Tig Root) Reports to : Production Manager

Duties

  • Read and interpret work orders, modification procedures, and weld procedures.
  • Perform fit-ups, pressure containing welds, and multilayer overlay welds as required by the work order.
  • Welding procedures including GTAW, FCAW, SMAW, using a variety of materials.
  • Working hours are Monday through Friday 7 : 00 am - 3 : 30 pm.
  • Overtime and weekend work required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Able to produce “x-ray quality” weldments
  • Able to read and interpret Prints, WPS, Specifications, Work Instructions
  • Fabrication & Mechanical an asset
  • Pipe Experience, Spooling Experience, Roll Welds, (TIG Root required)
  • Valve / Valve Modification Experience an asset
  • Ability to stand, crouch, bend for 8-hour shifts
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 Lbs. on occasion
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience operating a forklift
  • Problem solving skills
  • Overtime work as required
  • Ability to work as a team with positive open-minded attitude
  • Strong attention to detail

    • Education and Qualifications

  • High school or GED required (or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of welding / fabrication experience
