Job description

Are you a hardworking, results oriented individual? Nexar Projects Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Pipefitter to join our team on project in Alberta. The Pipefitter is responsible for assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems.  Key Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, and bending of pipes, valves and fittings Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems Identify and select appropriate types and sizes of metal and non-metal pipes and other relevant materials to match job specifications Plan and repair the pipe system layout and installation according to specifications Read, follow and translate blueprints, fabrication drawings, specifications and other instructions Look through and interpret client and Company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications Plan and make informed decisions based on given parameters, criteria and visualization of objects in three-dimensions from plans and drawings Fasten pipe components by following company welding procedures Monitor, record and report any discrepancies and issues with parts including malfunctions or defects to the Supervisor Inspect worksites to identify any existing and potential obstructions that may prevent other construction workers from completing their activities Maintain, inspect and modify pipes in the installation plans and replace any worn parts accordingly to ensure any holes or faulty piping will not cause structural weakness Keep all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion Ensure the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment while performing tasks Maintain and ensure ability to safely and effectively complete job duties by consistently coming prepared to work Adhere to all Company policies, plans, standards and procedures Other tasks and duties as assigned. These duties may fall out of the scope as described to support the business in whatever capacity deemed required. Job Requirements Qualifications Journeyman Pipefitter Certificate or equivalent; and / or combination of education and relevant work experience PCST certificate required Project positions are considered safety-sensitive and are required to complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and must be in compliance with Company requirement Experience Minimum 2-3 years experience working in a related role Skills and Knowledge Demonstrated conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills towards the generation of solutions and sound decisions Physically able to perform tasks for long hours outdoors and in all weather conditions Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures Knowledge of the pipeline construction industry Manual dexterity with the ability to use various hand tools Physically able to handle and lift heavy objects Excellent time management and organization abilities Ability to be reliable and have a strong work ethic Ability to work in a growing, dynamic and changing environment Strong communications skills, with an ability to work effectively in a team environment Optimistic / collaborative approach and attitude towards work Working Conditions Positions are field based and often work in remote work locations Travel and / or living in temporary accommodations may be required Our commitment to you : At Nexar Projects Ltd., we hold core values that focus on caring about people, working together, and achieving a high-performance culture through innovation and problem solving.
