As a part of a fun, innovative and collaborative HR team, this position will support the HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations in all provinces of Canada.

  • The HR Generalist will have both transactional and transformational responsibilities, which includes, Employee relations;
  • Advice and Guidance on various Employment legislation, HR topics, policies, and procedures; Job Evaluation and Compensation;

Coaching and Mentoring; Disability and Leave Management; Inclusion & Diversity, to name a few. This position is a hybrid role, and the successful candidate must be located in Edmonton, AB.

What you will do : Ensure GeoVerra’s values are understood, embraced, and implemented by management and employees and personally demonstrated in daily interactions and relationships.

Counsel Leaders on proactive leadership and human resources strategies to build a productive and cooperative work environment that enhances employee engagement and facilitates the achievement of business goals.

Coach and mentor client leaders to manage employee issues including performance management, attendance management and other conduct related issues.

Coach and advise supervisors on the interpretation and application of corporate policies. Be recognized as a trusted partner and provide support and advice on HR related issues including employee relations and escalating as appropriate.

Provide guidance to management on provincial employment standards, employment law, human rights, and privacy protection.

Lead and support investigations related to violations of company guidelines, policies / procedures governing employee conduct.

Manage organization disability program to support LTD and STD processes. Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies and ensure current human resource policies, programs meet statutory requirements.

Seek efficiency and improvement in day-to-day tasks that add value and align with company strategies and follow through with innovative people initiatives that bring us closer to our goals.

Leverage HR knowledge and experience to identify and recommend best practices and enhancements to current programs. Participate in HR projects as required.

What you will bring : Post-secondary degree in Human Resource Management or related. 3-5 years of directly related experience.

Previous experience working with HRIS systems. CPHR designation, or interest in pursuing the designation, is considered an asset.

A solid understanding of all provincial employment legislation. Advanced knowledge and expertise in Office 365 and SharePoint.

A Proven track record in building successful client relationships. Strong attention to detail, time-management skills and the ability to stay on task in a fast-paced environment with the ability to take immediate, effective action in high-pressure situations.

Excellent organizational, problem solving and coaching skills. Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, customer service focused.

Review and elevate all policies and procedures ensuring alignment to employment standards legislation.
