The Corporation of the City of North Bay is currently seeking applications for the position of Sewer & Water Operator.
Under the direction of the Operations Supervisor(s), this position inspects, maintains, repairs and installs municipal water distribution, wastewater collection and storm sewer systems.
The successful candidate will possess the following requirements :
- Minimum Grade 12 Education or equivalent.
- Must possess and post Ministry of Environment (MOE) Class 1 Water Distribution Certificate and a Class 1 Wastewater Collection Certificate.
- Must have worked at least one (1) year as a Sewer & Water Operator-in-Training.
- Must be familiar with all sewer and water pipes and fittings.
- Should be able to operate most sewer and water specialized equipment.
- Must have good work habits and be able to follow instructions effectively.
- Must be able to carry out major sewer and water repairs and installations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must have sufficient clerical ability to complete necessary reports.
- Must hold a valid Ontario class D driver’s license with a Z endorsement.
- Have good knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Required to participate in On-Call Duty System and be available for emergency work after hours.
Hours of Work :
Monday to Friday 7 : 30 a.m. to 4 : 00 p.m.
40 hours per week
