Position Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Liability and Professional Indemnity Loss Adjuster to join our team in Dubai . This position is an expat role and the qualified candidate is expected to relocate to Dubai.
The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of varied liability and professional indemnity claims. Manage the portfolio of claims (including some large and complex claims) from start to finish with minimal supervision. Works within established authority on moderate-to-difficult claims. Portfolio management will include comprehensive enquiries, manage stakeholder relationships and expectations of the insured and broker, policy review and recommendations on policy coverage to insurers, liability analysis, quantum calculations and settlement negotiations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct enquiries into the circumstances of a loss, interpretation and understanding of insurance policies, prepare a liability analysis taking into consideration the circumstances of the loss and the prevailing legislation within the territory / jurisdiction where the loss occurred.
- Stakeholder engagement, conduct interviews with insured representatives, third-party claimants, and witnesses. Manage expectations of all stakeholders involved in a claim, ensuring timely updates are provided and meetings are conducted as required.
- Allocate the appropriate reserve to a claim and communicate the preliminary reserve to insurers at the earliest opportunity.
- Obtain all information and documentation required to do a quantum analysis, understanding the principles of depreciation and salvage that may apply. Accurately document the quantum analysis, reflecting calculations. Incorporate claim adjustment recommendations as appropriate in the report and communicate adjustments to relevant stakeholders.
- Negotiate a claim settlement on best terms and prepare a deed of discharge / release, where applicable.
- Prepare a declinature letter setting out the basis for the declinature where appropriate.
- Recommend litigation when appropriate, assist panel lawyers with gathering evidence and manage the litigated claim from an adjusting perspective, providing assistance where required.
- Presents evidence and serves as an expert witness at legal proceedings.
- To assist in and develop the effective marketing of the client including developing working relationships with existing Clients and to assist with the identification and plan approaches to new Clients
Requirements
2-5 years experience as Liability Loss Adjuster with Bachelors degree in Law .Excellent knowledge of interpretation of insurance coverage, customs and practices.Ability to work independently while assimilating various technical subjects.Strong written and oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.Advanced analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects.Effective advanced interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external clientAdditional Information
