Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Senior Structural Engineer-Project Manager in Halifax, Nova Scotia to manage people, projects, and client relationships.

Newfoundland and New Brunswick would also be considered as additional location options. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment including working from the office and remotely.

Salary : $110,000-$200,000 / year (based on experience)

Who You Are

Knowledgeable : A licensed Professional Engineer with a BS, BSc or BEng and a minimum of 10 years' experience within the structural engineering discipline.

Experience working in the field with clients and contractors during planning and construction of projects. The candidate will also possess excellent problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills to manage projects and clients.

Dam safety experience and design experience with dams or hydroelectric facilities is strongly preferred.

Project Manager : Experience working on and managing all aspects of large, multi-discipline, complex projects , working directly with senior leaders to provide practical solutions to complex problems affecting renewable energy, water, and the environment.

Relationship-focused : Ability to establish long-lasting relationships with clients to assist them in solving complex engineering challenges, demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction.

Additional Requirements

  • Must possess permanent authorization to work in Canada and able to acquire authorization to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license

The position includes a combination of project, people, and client relationship management for unique engineering design projects involving retrofits and rehabilitation efforts at existing dams and hydroelectric projects.

Our Process
