Structural Design Technician- Signs

Our client a premier sign design company located in Burlington Ontario is looking for a Structural Design Technician to work in a branded client context.

You will work within branding specifications for major clients across Canada. Acting as the liaison between design and shop you will oversee the preparation of drawings from client presentation working with sales to shop production and installation.

You will also be included in permit applications and all details associated with completion of projects. What we offer :

• $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year.
• Company bonus from $2,500.00-$5,000.00 a year based on production.
• 2 weeks’ vacation with an additional week off for Christmas shutdown.

What You’ll be doing :

• Working with Sales you will coordinate the drawings using branding information to streamline drawings for the shop production / installation.
• Working with Engineers to obtain approvals for permit applications, making sure all documents are available at all times.
• Work closely with all department supervisors to determine best method of construction for efficient production and installation.
• Interpret drawings and ideas recommending materials for cost and time efficiencies.
• Keeping all departments abreast of the project specifications and timelines using effective communication.
• You must work within strict branding guidelines to comply with customers overall branding message, you will use client’s image & material specs to obtain consistency.
• Review work orders daily to ensure they are complete in a timely manner.

Who you are :

• You have 3 years working for a sign company or you work in a highly branded environment and are used to consistency in branding
• You have a post-secondary education Design, Architecture or Engineering
• Proficient in design software Illustrator and Corel Draw
• Ability to meet deadlines and collaborate with a team
