Summary
Reporting to the Document Control Manager, the Tech Writer is responsible for taking technical information and illustrations and sorting them into manuals and drawings it in a way that can be easily understood and utilized by both technical and non-technical people.
Their work will include creation and maintenance of operator and service manuals, design specifications relevant to manufacturing and maintenance of R&D documentation as well as PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) forms and instructions, as well as Product Quality Campaigns.
Creating these documents requires a great deal of research and subject matter knowledge therefore the successful candidate must have excellent research skills and become a subject matter expert.

Education / Experience
- Technical drafting diploma in Industrial Design, Engineering, or equivalent preferred
- Strong working knowledge of Arbortext ,Creo Illustrate and Microsoft Office
- Previous experience as a Technical Writer is an asset
- Agricultural and / or Manufacturing industry experience is an asset
- Knowledge of and experience with current farming practices and equipment are an asset

Accountabilities
- Create and update Operator / Service manuals with yearly updates by manufacturer
- Provide support to Manufacturing and Service departments
- Will have the ability to meet deadlines set by the Document Control Manager
- Will have good communication and interaction with the design team and production team
- Ability to efficiently gather and research information for use in technical documentation
- Assist in design and maintenance of technical document layouts
- Ability to deliver high quality documentation with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and drawings
- Make decisions with manager guidance and in compliance with the essential functions of the task
- Ability to remain positive, persuasive and personable when dealing with difficult situations
- Assist Service team with communicating maintenance procedures and guidelines
- Other tasks as required
