Student Assistant (Educational Assistant)

Lakeland Catholic School Division is currently seeking a temporary full-time Student Assistant to support students at Holy Cross Elementary School in Cold Lake, AB for the 2025-2026 school year.

Serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, this position requires a skilled and compassionate professional with a strong background in supporting adolescents-particularly those with behavioural needs, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or other complex challenges.

This appointment is temporary in nature and is intended to support current student programming for the 2025-2026 school year. Continuation of employment beyond this term may be considered only if operational needs permit , and is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities :

• Provide direct support to students with diverse learning needs in classroom and individual settings
• Implement behavioural support strategies aligned with student support plans
• Assist with emotional regulation, engagement, and independence skills
• Work collaboratively with teachers and inclusive education teams in a Catholic school setting
• Maintain student dignity and a safe, respectful learning environment.
