Job Description
Location : One York Street, Toronto (Downtown) - Hybrid work model - In-office presence required 2-3 days per week.
Sun Life is looking for a Senior UX Designer to join our Experience Design (XD) team. You will take ownership in driving UX strategy, leveraging strong perspectives on design excellence to influence project direction and champion human-centered design practices across the organization.
You will collaborate with product owners, engineers, other experience design professionals, as well as key partners across our business to deliver meaningful data-driven design solutions that enhance our digital product offerings.
What will you do?
- Take ownership to influence project strategy and be an evangelist for UX practices across the company.
- Lead the production of design specs and other documentation as needed within all project timelines.
- Create best-in class digital experiences based on client, business and technical inputs creating desirable and consistent journeys for users across multiple platforms, devices and channels.
- Develop new concepts, storyboards, screen flows, detailed designs and interactive prototypes to clearly articulate solutions.
- Lead the analysis and integration of user data and research findings to inform and validate design decisions.
- Conduct market scans to identify trends and best practices in digital product design.
- Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions and ensure usability standards are met.
- Track user experience metrics and analytics, including reporting on the success of UX improvements.
- Leverage AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance design processes, improve efficiency, and drive innovation.
- Actively collaborate as part of a cross-functional agile team to ensure designs are feasible and implemented accurately.
What do you need to succeed?
5+ years of experience in user-centered digital design and user experience.University degree or certification in User Experience, or equivalent work experience.UX portfolio demonstrating impactful customer experiences, including experience developing digital products from initial concept through to implementation.Strong UI / visual design acumen with the ability to create visually appealing and intuitive interfaces.Demonstrated experience with user research methods such as A / B concept and usability testing, and ability to interpret and synthesize findings.Proficiency with current design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Jira, etc.Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., AODA, WCAG) and inclusive design practices.Experience delivering design in agile, cross-functional environments.Preferred Skills :
Ability to work efficiently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate the value of design choices to key stakeholders.Strong presentation skills, with an ability to advocate for user needs based on qualitative feedback and quantitative data.Deep knowledge of design systems that consistently scale across platforms.Demonstrated ability to stay current with emerging design trends, technologies, and AI-driven design tools, with experience applying these innovations to enhance user experiences.Strong sense of ownership and proactively advocates for end users.Please note : Candidates are expected to bring a portfolio of their past work to highlight their UX accomplishments and experience.
