My client is a leading accounting and professional services firm dedicated to providing exceptional assurance, tax, and advisory services to clients across Nova Scotia.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Assurance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assurance services, extensive knowledge of Canadian accounting standards, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality client service.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and manage assurance engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, including privately held companies, non-profit organizations, and public sector entities.
  • Plan, execute, and review financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations in accordance with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of assurance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and technical expertise to support their professional development.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, understanding their needs, and providing strategic advice and solutions.
  • Identify and communicate audit risks and opportunities to clients, proactively addressing issues and providing recommendations for process improvements.
  • Stay abreast of emerging accounting and auditing standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends, ensuring compliance and best practices in assurance engagements.
  • Collaborate with other service lines within the firm, including tax and advisory, to provide integrated solutions and maximize client value.
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and networking events to expand the firm's client base and service offerings.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of firm-wide assurance methodologies, tools, and training programs.
  • Uphold the firm's values and professional standards, promoting a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in public accounting, with a focus on assurance services.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian accounting and auditing standards, including ASPE and ASNPO; familiarity with IFRS is an asset.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and audit tools, including CaseWare, CaseView, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
  • Eligibility for registration with a provincial CPA regulatory body in Nova Scotia.

Job Type : Full-time, Fully Remote

Pay : $90,000-$130,000 per year
