Adecco is currently recruiting for a full-time Construction Supervisor position with a distinguished mining and metals company in Kitimat, BC.

The ideal candidate will possess over ten years of construction supervision experience in heavy industry sectors, complemented by a Trade certificate or tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical discipline.

Residency in the Kitimat area is mandatory for this position.

  • Pay rate : Up to $93.75 per hour, IC rate
  • Location : Kitimat, BC
  • Shifts : Monday - Friday 40-50 hours / Week
  • Job type : Full-time Contract

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Ensure safe project delivery and quality execution of field works in compliance with standards and scope.
  • Assist in project planning, reviewing deliverables, and monitoring project schedules.
  • Collect and maintain records to support assessment of claims, assist in incident investigations, and evaluate contractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor construction activities to meet technical specifications, implement controls and processes, and review contractor execution plans.
  • Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, and quality control procedures, and oversee site safety inspections and leadership activities.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities, training, permits, and isolations with operations, and manage day-to-day field works, permits, and contractor mobilization.
  • Review progress reports, timesheets, and work methodologies, and ensure efficient allocation of resources to meet project objectives.
  • Escalate scope changes and facilitate approvals for temporary works activities, handovers, and site establishment.
  • Complete daily reports and support handover to operations, while actively participating in safety meetings and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications :

  • Trade certificate or tertiary qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical discipline.
  • Over 10 years of construction supervision experience in heavy industry.
  • Proficient in interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead construction activities by identifying alternative approaches and implementing optimized solutions to fulfill project and client needs.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analyzing scheduling performance and producing detailed reports.
  • Must be an Independent Contractor
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
