They are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to join their team and oversee the maintenance operations at their Richmond plant, with occasional responsibilities in their Burnaby plant.
As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead a team of six Maintenance Technicians, ensuring the efficient operation of plant equipment and machinery.
Your primary focus will be on supporting preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
You will report to the Maintenance Manager and collaborate closely with the Maintenance Planner and HR for scheduling and team development.
The ideal candidate will possess a Millwright Red Seal, will have a strong background in mechanical maintenance, preferably within the food industry, and 5-7 years of supervisor experience.

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing :
- Supervise and lead a team of six Maintenance Technicians in the Richmond plant with 1 - 2 days a week of support in the Burnaby location
- Direct maintenance activities at the plants to minimize production disruptions and maintain maintenance expenditure within established cost parameters.
- Determine maintenance priorities in coordination with the maintenance Manager and monitor maintenance assignments to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.
Collaborate with other plant departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems.
Provide leadership to hourly maintenance personnel, including coaching, cross-training, performance assessment, safety enforcement, and grievance procedures.
Ensure adherence to safety and productivity goals / standards.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimize downtime while reducing inventory costs. Provide recommendations for equipment upkeep, maintenance efficiency, and productivity.
- Implement and oversee the Preventive Maintenance Program to prevent equipment breakdowns, including inspections, assigning maintenance tasks, and ensuring program application to all equipment.
- Ensure a safe work environment for employees, customers, and visitors by monitoring working practices and enforcing safety procedures.
Qualifications
What you bring :
5-7 years of experience in maintenance supervision, preferably in the food industry.
Red Seal Millwright certification preferred; Industrial Electricians with manufacturing supervisor experience considered.
Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience with CMMS systems and inventory management.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
