About the Opportunity

• Prepare consolidated financial statements on a quarterly and annual basis.
• Actively participate and lead the resolution of technical accounting issues.
• Support month end closing process including the preparation, review and approval of journal entries, ensuring timelines and deliverables are achieved.
• Liaises with external auditors for interim and year-end audits.
• Compile, analyze and report on key business operating metrics / drivers, including ability to link operating and financial trends and variances.
• Support tax team with provincial and federal tax filing requirements
• Develop, implement and monitor financial controls and procedures while ensuring compliance with accounts policies under IFRS.
• Provide recommendations on business process changes, opportunities for improvements in process and control.
• Assist in preparation of various analyses and reports for senior management to support their business decision making, and for the board of directors including monthly and quarterly board reports.
• Support preparation of forecasting and business planning process.
• Support annual valuation process including in-depth review of models / long-term assumptions and the preparation of management presentations.
• Ad-hoc analyses and presentations on financial and operational results, as well as supporting any special projects.

About You

• Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA preferred)
• 7-10 years of work experience in an accounting function, with a track record of high performance
• At least 2 years in a people manager position
• Strong IFRS knowledge
• Advisory or corporate finance experience at a recognized firm or at a leading organization would be an asset
• Highly proficient in Excel, including ability to model and use advanced functions
• Highly proficient in PowerPoint, including ability to generate presentations
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be an asset

Salary

$120,000 - $130,000 / year
