Reporting to the Senior Manager, International & Domestic Sales, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Sales Manager to join our dynamic Sales team to plan and manage the North American markets, including US, Mexico, Brazil and Canada

Responsibilities :

Tour Operator Sales and Business Development US & Canada (B2B2C) :

  • Identify and target tour operators, and other potential partners globally to promote our rail travel services. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share including sales presentation and training.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers in the travel industry;
  • Act as the primary point of contact for tour operators. Understand client needs and tailor our offerings to meet their requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service to maintain and enhance client relationships;
  • Manage travel trade Fams and Media Fams from these markets to maximize VIA’s presence and increase sales of our VIA products, year-round;
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with travel industry partners in these markets to further expand VIA’s presence and sales.

Manage In-market representatives for VIA (Mexico and Brazil) :

  • Manage and coach our in-market representatives for VIA Rail to increase tour operator and consumer business in these markets. Set objectives,
  • establish sales and market development strategies and monitor activities to maximize growth opportunities.

Sales Forecasting and Reporting :

Analyze sales data to create accurate sales forecasts and reports. Provide updates to team management on sales performance, market trends, and opportunities.

Market Analysis and Research :

Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market demands. Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation in leisure travel.

Leverage Client Relationship Management tools :

Leverage digital CRM tool, like Salesforce, to maintain relationships effectively and efficiently with client base.

Collaboration with Internal Teams :

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as revenue management, network planning, marketing, and product and service design to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of services;
  • Communicate client feedback and market insights to internal stakeholders.

Travel and Events :

Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to represent the company and explore new business opportunities.

Domestic and International travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events. Requirements : The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with travel operators and agencies worldwide, promoting our leisure travel offering.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the leisure travel market, exceptional communication skills, and a proven track record in sales within the travel industry.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism or a related field;
  • Proven experience, of 5 yrs or more, in leisure travel sales, preferably in the US and Mexico market;
  • Strong network and existing relationships within the travel operator and travel industry space;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team;
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and Power BI is a plus;
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (10% of time);
  • Bilingual in French or Spanish is an asset;
  • Weekend work and hours outside of 9-5 is periodically required.
