Program Coordinator SAYC

Overview

Job Summary : Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will coordinate the day to day operations of the Syl Apps Youth Centre. In addition the Program Coordinator ensures appropriate staffing ratios and coverage for programming of youths in the unit, school, court, passes, recreation, plans of care meetings while maintaining the safety and security for staff, residents, teachers and visitors at Syl Apps.

Compensation

Compensation : $30.88 / hr CAD - $34.07 / hr CAD. Compensation is negotiable and will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assign and re-assign staff to ensure operations run smoothly, including adequate short-term shift coverage in consultation with other managers.
• Act as Manager in charge of the facility (in consultation with on-call manager) after normal business hours, during weekends and statutory holidays.
• Provide support and direction to units in potentially difficult, volatile situations.
• Coordinate and direct responses to emergencies, assist in providing debriefing sessions following critical incidents.
• Liaise with internal and external representatives in Placement Coordination Unit, other secure and open facilities.
• Provide supervision & support to Relief staff including hiring, discipline and performance appraisals.
• Coordinate all aspects of court transport including administration.
