BURNCO has a tremendous opportunity for a Systems Admin Lead to join our evolving IT team. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Operations, you will be a key player in maintaining and enhancing our critical server infrastructure across North America.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on expert with a passion for server technologies, a proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues, and a commitment to delivering reliable and high-performing systems.
Key Responsibilities :
- Server Administration and Maintenance : Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot server hardware and software, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
- System Monitoring and Optimization : Proactively monitor server performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Incident Response and Resolution : Quickly diagnose and resolve server-related issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
- Security and Patch Management : Implement and maintain robust security measures for server infrastructure, including patch management, vulnerability scanning, and access controls.
- Capacity Planning and Upgrades : Forecast future server capacity needs, plan and execute server upgrades, and ensure scalability to meet growing business demands.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing : Maintain comprehensive documentation of server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, and share knowledge with team members to enhance collective expertise.
Leadership and Competencies :
To excel as the Systems Admin Lead at BURNCO, you will :
- Technical Mastery : Possess in-depth knowledge of server operating systems, virtualization technologies, and hardware platforms.
- Problem-Solving Skills : Demonstrate exceptional troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
- Automation and Scripting : Leverage automation and scripting tools to streamline server management tasks and improve efficiency.
- Communication Skills : Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Team Leadership : Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Qualifications & Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in server administration or a related role.
- 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring a team of system administrators.
- Industry certifications (., MCSA, MCSE, VCP) are a plus.
Additional Requirements :
Valid passport to enable travel to US operations as needed.
