ABOUT THE ROLE
Trans Alta is seeking a results‑driven Senior Advisor, Reliability Compliance to join the Reliability Compliance team and play a key role in advancing the organization’s commitment to safe, reliable, and compliant operations. Reporting to the Manager, Compliance, the Senior Advisor, Reliability Compliance is primarily responsible for coordinating the implementation of new NERC reliability standards. This includes both Operations & Planning (O&P) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards. This role works collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the organization’s readiness for new standards.
This is a full-time salaried position based out of our Head Office in Downtown Calgary, AB , with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule .
A DAY IN THE LIFE
- Actively monitor NERC standard development; gather internal stakeholder feedback and provide comments to NERC standard drafting teams as necessary
- Assess proposed changes and identify compliance gaps to new and revised standards
- Support the Manager in developing project scope and identifying resource requirements to comply with new and revised standards
- Coordinate execution of activities by Operations and external contractors
- Gather and verify compliance evidence to ensure it complies with the measures identified in NERC standards
- Prepare Reliability Standards Audit Worksheets (RSAWs) in support of future self-certifications and audits
- Update existing internal processes and procedures to reflect the new and revised standards
- Support the development and delivery of training and awareness on new and revised standards to Compliance Delegates
- Support other Reliability Compliance Advisors in updating TransAlta’s internal controls to reflect new and revised standards
- Escalate any risks to on-time implementation to the Manager in a timely manner
- Provide clear and consistent status reports to internal stakeholders
