Due to increased demand, Top Lift Enterprises Inc. is currently seeking qualified Chassis / Trailer Technicians in EDMONTON, AB, responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the chassis and cranes in Inter-modal yard rail yards.

We also do government regulated safety inspections and preventive maintenance.

WHAT WE NEED :

  • Inspection diagnosis and repair of trailers through preventative and scheduled maintenance, trailer frames electrical systems;
  • landing gear assemblies and trailer bodies; suspensions systems; tires; wheels; hubs and axles; air and auxiliary systems;

braking systems; heating and refrigeration systems; roof repairs; hitching / coupling systems; as well as ventilation devices.

  • Thoroughly inspecting trailer mechanisms, ensuring that the trailer is safe and reliable for operations.
  • Preventative maintenance on trailer and mechanical parts.
  • Testing and adjusting repaired systems to manufacturer’s performance specifications.
  • Troubleshooting and able to look at mechanical, electrical systems, identify problems, and think about and perform possible solutions.
  • Familiar with electronics, and able to read blueprints, or use electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor on work performed, general vehicle condition, and future repair requirements.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and safe facility, following company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
  • Complete detailed inspection reports to record problems and work performed.
  • Ability to perform repairs in different environmental settings, such as in repair shop or outside in the yard.
  • Ensure maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner.

WHAT WE REQUIRE :

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada.
  • Must be safety conscious.
  • Commercial vehicle inspection license preferred.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must follow direction.
  • Must be a team player, with a positive attitude.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to refer to manuals for spare parts and diagnostics.
  • Ability to operate a heavy duty service vehicle.
  • Experience with repair and maintenance of large mobile equipment, shunt trucks, and fleet vehicles.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Experience completing preventive maintenance, and scheduled repairs.
  • Experience completing handwritten repair orders.
  • Valid drivers license, with clean drivers abstract.
  • Willing and able to work both indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to work weekends would be considered an asset.
