Build Crew Labourer

We are currently seeking Build Crew Labourer for a special project happening in Nanaimo BC. In this role you will be part of a Team assembling Matrix proprietary fly units as they are staged and prepped for set-up and deployment.
Job Requirements :
You are team oriented, self-motivated, and have a high attention for detail, accuracy and can prioritize tasks. You will play a key role as one of the Team members tasked with manufacturing and assembling our uniquely designed temporary accommodation structures.
This position reports directly to the Build Lead.
Responsibilities :
- Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Perform general labour with helping assemble pre-manufactured structures.
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
- Always practice good housekeeping in the work area.
- Participate in daily Toolbox meetings.
- Perform labour intensive duties by lifting to 50lbs.
- Support the Build Lead on additional duties outside of your labour position when needed.
- Work in a team environment, but also able to work independently when required.
Requirements
Required Knowledge & Skills :
- Minimum of three (3) years working as a skilled Labourer in the residential framing field.
- Previous Carpentry experience is a strong asset.
- Ability to work in challenging weather conditions as required.
- Knowledge and experience with small manual and powered, hand tools is required.
- Organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication skills.
- Highly motivated, team-oriented individual with attention to detail.
- Ability to work up to a four (4) week schedule, 12-hour shifts per day.
- Be in good health and physically able to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Able to lift and move heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
- Able to maintain a high level of performance over a 12-hour shift.
Preferred Licensing & Certifications :
- Valid Drivers Licence preferred (Class 1 or heavy haul endorsement an asset)
- Standard First Aid Certification.
- WHIMS Certification.
- Previous experience working in Construction (Framing) or manufacturing and assembly is highly desired.
Benefits
This temporary position pays between $300-$350 per day, based on a 12-hour shift, dependent upon experience.
