Your Role :

The Engineering Infrastructure team at Global Relay is at the forefront of delivering foundational services that power the company's technology stack and supports our internal developers through infrastructure and tooling.

As a Technical Product Manager (TPM), you will play a crucial role in executing the vision, strategy, and roadmap for key components of our infrastructure.

This role blends deep technical expertise with product management to ensure the successful delivery of innovative, scalable solutions that address both business needs and technical challenges, while empowering developers to build and innovate more efficiently.

You'll partner closely with engineering teams, product stakeholders, and external vendors to align roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and drive new products and features from concept to release.

Your Job :

As a TPM on the Engineering Infrastructure team, you will :

  • Collaborate closely with business and engineering stakeholders to identify pain points and opportunities for infrastructure and tooling improvements
  • Facilitate internal discovery and proof-of-concepts to validate new ideas and solutions
  • Lead the end-to-end product development process, from gathering technical requirements to driving execution within Agile teams
  • Manage and prioritize backlogs to ensure alignment with business and engineering objectives
  • Continuously improve team methodologies to accelerate processes and enhance collaboration
  • Translate business needs and technical challenges into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and product artifacts
  • Drive cross-team coordination and ensure the timely delivery of features with high-quality standards
  • Conduct market and technical research to guide product decisions and strategy
  • Serve as the product expert, understanding the technical architecture, business logic, and integration points for your areas of responsibility

About You :

  • 5+ years of product management experience in a technical environment
  • Strong background in computer science, engineering, business, or related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with engineering teams, translating complex technical concepts into actionable plans
  • Solid understanding of backend systems, including microservices, databases, messaging systems, and modern platform architectures
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Experience managing technical backlogs and working closely with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering technical products in fast-paced environments

Nice to Haves :

  • Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, OpenSearch, or other distributed systems
  • Familiarity with data governance, integrity, and lifecycle management
  • Experience working in SaaS, messaging, or enterprise software environments
  • Strong domain modeling, workflow design, and technical documentation skills

Compensation :

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia's pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values.

British Columbia - Base Salary Range :

$90,000-$130,000 CAD
