My client, the largest Property Management firm in the world is currently seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician in Halifax .
The role will be responsible for operating a facility including, mechanical, & other supporting systems; performing structured inspections, preventative & corrective maintenance, routine & on-demand services on facility mechanical equipment & other systems.
The Technician is also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes & practices & for complying with internal & external requirements including environmental, health & safety, & fire protection.
The salary depends on experience & this position is in a Federal Government Building so I am seeking someone who can uundergo an enhanced Security Clearance.
I am looking for someone experienced in TROUBLESHOOTING MECHANICAL & HVAC SYSTEMS with the ability to REPAIR deficiencies or to oversee CONTRACTORS to ensure work is completed.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complies with all internal & external requirements including environmental, health, safety, & fire protection.
- Performs regular facility, mechanical & other equipment & systems monitoring inspections, preventative & corrective maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are met, uninterrupted client operation & asset integrity of facility are maintained.
- Responds to routine & on-demand service requests & performs preventative & corrective maintenance on facility mechanical equipment & other systems.
- Monitors assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, & other equipment system monitoring & inspection.
- Operates facility mechanical & other systems
- Manages work order life cycle progressing the work form dispatched through to completion & records resolution data within service maintenance management database.
Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response, & all other requirements
- Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program.
- Assists in enhancing tenant & customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through the manner in which work is performed & services delivered.
- Maintains all assigned tools & arranges for repair and replacement where required
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma plus trades training & / or certification or licensing.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on heating ventilation & air conditions systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
- Sound knowledge of processes and practices relating to facility operations & maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot and repair (as per applicable qualifications) mechanical & other building systems
- Possesses a strong environmental, health, and safety mindset.
- Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
- Knowledge and understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
- Must be able & willing to work shifts, be available for on-call / standby and emergency call-outs as they arise
- Must be capable of obtaining appropriate security clearance
