Schedule

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
  • Some travel will be required as this position needs to have a presence at Quebec locations as not all employees have access to email.

It will be the successful candidate's responsibility to create a schedule that works best.

Operating in mixed environments ranging from a professional office setting, terminals, shops, and washracks.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic advisor to business leaders by providing guidance, recommendations and / or coaching for performance management, employee relations, labour relations, and conflict resolution matters.
  • Partner with the Manager, HRBP Northern Operations as well as the operational management team to develop and implement policies, procedures, and programs that promote a positive work culture and compliance with employment laws.
  • Lead and / or participate om People and Culture initiatives to driver employee engagement and retention, talent management, diversity and inclusion, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend appropriate actions to address employee relations issues and ensure a respectful and inclusive work environment.
  • Create relevant documentation as needed.
  • Respond to grievances as needed.
  • Participate in and / or be able to lead collective bargaining negotiations.
  • Analyze metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, relevant employment law and best practices to proactively recommend innovative solutions to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Handle all relevant matters with sensitivity and confidentiality to ensure discretion and integrity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Human Resources experience with at least 2 years in a business partner or similar role or equivalent experience.
  • Labour Relations experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships throughout all levels of the Company.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change.
  • Very strong judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related post-secondary equivalent; related professional certification is an asset
