Voyago, Transdev Ontario, is hiring a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) , to be based in our Ajax office and covering both the expanded Durham and GTA regions.
Your Role
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources , we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to align business objectives with employee and management needs through close working relationships with management and all employee groups. This is an in‑office position and will require occasional travel within Ontario.
Primary Responsibilities
Business Partner
- Partner with the business to assess short and long‑term business needs of the business units and provide strategic HR direction to meet their operational business requirements
- Support leaders with their management of front‑line drivers and other employee groups
- Consult with business stakeholders on an ongoing basis to determine evolving human resource requirements and assist with the development and implementation of responsive, effective and value‑added human resource strategies
- Provide input on business restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning
- Provide day‑to‑day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, corrective actions)
- Use judgement supported by human resource acumen and practical experience to elevate matters as required
- Provide leadership, guidance and develop an HR Generalist who will assist you in support of your internal clients
Employee Relations
Work closely with all leaders on performance management, investigations, corrective action, training & development, and supporting a strong employee experienceProvide advice on human resource policies, procedures, and documentation; research, identify, and analyze specific employee relations concerns and make appropriate recommendations to the business partnerProvide expertise on HR best practices to guide business stakeholders on matters such as performance management, human rights, employment standards and other labour legislationExplore and determine innovative and creative approaches to resolving employee issuesProvide positive reinforcement and administer corrective action for the professional development of poor performers by closely monitoring employee performanceFacilitate communication and conflict resolution, including conducting internal employee investigationsCompliance
Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of current legislation relating to employment law, WSIB, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code to ensure regulatory complianceProvide support and consultation to the teams around applicable laws, ensuring that Voyago remains legally compliant in its people practicesEmployee Experience
Foster and build relationships with key operational leaders by implementing a clear understanding of employee experience programs and initiativesSupport Employee experience initiatives under the direction of the Employee Experience Manager along with other projects and day‑to‑day supportRequirements
Your Profile
You have a Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related fieldYou have 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Business Partner role, ideally in a related industryYour CHRP certification is preferredYou possess a Clean Criminal Record Search and Drivers AbstractYou have 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience managing labour relations, grievances, arbitration prep and negotiationsYou are strategic, have a strong professional presence, and possess strong planning and organizational skillsYou can interact with all levels of the organization with consultative, partnering, facilitating, and influencing / negotiating skillsYou demonstrate a commitment to strong integrity, maintain confidentiality, and manage sensitive informationYou are highly motivated and a self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesComplete proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other common applicationsYou have an in‑depth knowledge of current legislations relating to employment standards and can provide counsel on Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workers' Compensation Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, etc.You are available to travel to other facilities on a regular basisBenefits
