Job Title : Experienced Industrial Designer - Lighting Design

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Designer with expertise in lighting design to join our team.

Position Overview :

We're in search of an experienced Industrial Designer with a specialization in lighting design, capable of contributing their expertise to design and develop innovative lighting products tailored to the unique demands of the film and television industry.

Additionally, this role will play a pivotal part in shaping our expansion into diverse fields, including exhibit design, large-scale public art, and real-world lighting fixtures.

Responsibilities :

• Lead the design and development of lighting products, ensuring they meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of the film industry
• Develop manufacturing files and production methods, optimizing for quality and efficiency
• Collaborate with external suppliers to source materials and components
• Innovate in areas such as finishes, materials, and production techniques to enhance product performance
• Design product packaging, graphics, and associated media content
• Work closely with our engineering team and stakeholders to define project criteria and deliverables
• Oversee design validation through prototyping, testing, and feedback
• Address custom client projects with agility and creativity
• Adapt lighting designs for diverse applications, including exhibit design, large-scale public art, and real-world lighting fixtures

Qualifications :

• Impressive portfolio showcasing extensive experience in lighting design and contributions to successful projects
• Proven track record of professional design experience in the lighting industry
• Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team, depending on project scope
• Mastery of Solid modeling software (e.g., Fusion 360)
• Profound understanding of lighting technologies and their applications
• Familiarity with sheet metal, injection molding, and CNC design
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign

Assets that Stand Out :

• Expertise in outputting for and operating CNC and 3D printers
• Experience with overseas manufacturing processes
• Deep knowledge of LED lighting technology
• Understanding of Film industry requirements and working methods
• Previous experience in exhibit design, large-scale public art, or lighting fixture design for real-world applications
• Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Knowledge of product certifications and compliance standards
