Agilus is recruiting for a Environmental Engineer in the Oil&Gas Industry in Regina Saskatchewan.
100% site based role in Regina.
No Hybrid option.
Must be local to Regina or willing to relocate. No accommodation or travel provided.
The Environmental Engineer is responsible for directing, coordinating and carrying out environmental programs and activities to ensure that the Complex is operated in compliance with the applicable environmental regulations and ensures that all regulatory and permitting requirements are met.
A typical day :
- The Environmental Engineer is responsible for directing, coordinating and carrying out environmental programs and activities to ensure that the Complex is operated in compliance with the applicable environmental regulations and ensures that all regulatory and permitting requirements are met.
- Ensure all environmental reporting is performed, as required by the City of Regina, Environment Canada and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment
- Be on-call on occasion to provide environmental support and perform reporting requirements during upset conditions at the Complex
- Assisting in the development of applications for new and / or renewal Permits to Operate, assisting in the development and submission of all applications for permission to construct new facilities and the modification of existing facilities, co-ordination of research work that the Complex may be involved in and assist in liaison during upset conditions.
- Management of contractors providing services for remediation and solid waste management programs, as well as air, soil and water monitoring programs.
This work includes administration of a $3 - $4 million budget annually.
- Maintain a working knowledge of tools and techniques available for technical work and recommending those that are most appropriate for use, maintaining a current awareness of new and evolving environmental technologies appropriate to the operation and consult as required with outside agencies to acquire information on the operation of the environmental equipment or processes.
- Participate in the development and implementation of safety programs for staff by ensuring the operating practices and procedures employees are using are safe, actively participate in improving Complex safety performance and ensuring employees receive the required safety training for their jobs.
Successful candidates will have :
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering or related field
- Minimum 7 years of related experience
- Membership in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS) as a Professional Engineer
