Under general supervision, the Fleet Mechanicwork involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation / dismantling of systems and projects within the trade, and troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairs of construction equipment.

Location : Abbotsford, BC

What You'll Do Here :

Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations are being adhered to.

Coordinate / schedule work with management & vendors.

Interact directly with operations team(s).

Liaison with suppliers.

Read diagrams / schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures.

Maintain and service a fleet of trucks and trailers.

Maintain and service a fleet of construction equipment.

Complete service and repair sheets for maintenance records.

Able to perform services on electrical, hydraulic, power train, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment (bucket & digger trucks).

Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts in a safe manner.

Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment.

Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment.

Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection / diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes.

Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced, or apprentice maintenance personnel.

Performing hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.

Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubles.

Making repairs per the manufacturer’s specifications.

Utilize computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes.

Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Maintain excellent customer relations.

Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.

Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.

Heavy lifting required.

What You Bring to the Team :

Valid DZ license in good standing is required.

Class 3 License.

Truck and Coach Service License (310T) required.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in equipment and vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Excellent mechanical knowledge.

Effective interpersonal skills (spoken and written communication).

High school diploma is an asset.

The expected pay range for this position is $37-47 / hr.
