Job description

Lead .NET Developer at Mortgage Automator

Most modernization roles involve incremental change. This one is a true greenfield rebuild of a core industry platform used every day by lenders who rely on us to keep their businesses running.

Responsibilities

Establish the new technical foundation that will carry our company for the next decade
Lead the rewrite of legacy PHP systems into a modern .NET cloud‑native ecosystem
Shape engineering culture, standards, and best practices from the ground up

What You’ll Do

Own the Architecture

Define the technical vision for our next‑generation platform

Architect and implement a modern .NET Core‑based ecosystem

Lead our transition to microservices, cloud‑native patterns, and modern DevOps workflows

Deliver Hands‑On Impact

Write high‑quality, maintainable code for new core systems

Design and build REST APIs, distributed components, and mobile experiences

Make technology choices that balance performance, reliability, and long‑term maintainability

Lead and Elevate the Team

Mentor developers and guide architectural thinking across the organization

Establish coding standards, development workflows, and quality practices

Collaborate directly with leadership to align engineering decisions with business goals

Requirements

Expert‑level C# and .NET Core, with mastery of modern development patterns

Strong experience with React for cross‑platform mobile development

Proficiency in Tailwind CSS and modern front‑end architectures

Deep understanding of REST API design, microservices, and cloud‑native application development

Experience with CI / CD, automated testing, and DevOps tooling

Strong SQL and NoSQL database design skills

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

7+ years of development experience, including 3+ with .NET

A history of leading or driving large‑scale modernization or rewrite initiatives

Strong architectural judgment and the ability to make pragmatic decisions under real‑world constraints

Excellent communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders

A passion for clean code, elegant architecture, and raising the bar for engineering teams
