At Q Engineering, we’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our team. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience in structural design, analysis, construction support, and code compliance while working in a collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- 0–3 years of experience in structural engineering or a related field.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation or eligibility with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Proficiency in structural design software (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, RISA, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, load calculations, and material properties.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and learn from mentorship.
What You’ll Do
- Structural Analysis & Design Support: Assist in analyzing loads, forces, and materials for buildings, bridges, and infrastructure projects.
- Drafting & Modeling: Develop technical drawings, 3D models, and blueprints using AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or similar software.
- Compliance & Code Research: Ensure designs meet Canadian and international building codes (IBC, ACI, CSA, OBC, etc.).
- Material Selection & Specification: Research and recommend suitable concrete, steel, wood, and composite materials.
- Construction Site Support: Conduct site visits, inspections, and field assessments to verify progress and adherence to design.
- Reporting & Documentation: Assist with engineering reports, calculations, and evaluation summaries.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with senior engineers, architects, and contractors to build real-world expertise.
