Host / Hostess - MRHH Food Services (Acute Care)
Temporary Part Time (For Approx. 12 Months
The host / hostess is responsible for assisting patients with meals including meal selection, service and retrieval, in accordance with the patient’s dietary needs / restrictions.
You will assist patients with making appropriate daily menu selections. You will prepare, assemble and deliver patient meal trays and snacks.
You will calculate modified diets / fluid restrictions, calories, etc. You will also perform various kitchen duties including sanitation, set-up and completing temperature logs and use an automated tablet to record and transfer meal selections to computer.
What must you have?
- Completion of High School Education or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current and valid Food Safety Proton Certificate from Public Health.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a host / hostess.
What else do you bring?
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic diet information.
- Good command of the English language, including reading, writing and verbal skills.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service.
- Computer literacy in a Windows environment.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.
