Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Processing Specialist is responsible for full cycle payroll processing for Salaried and Hourly Employees in Canada and US.
What You’ll Do Here
Salary Payroll Processing; On / Off Cycles (Hourly Back Up) Canadian and USProcessing of Executive Compensation and ability to administer and validate Executive off cycles immediately upon requestReconcile payroll prior to transmission, run audit reports, and perform validation to ensure accurate and timely processingResolve payroll processing errors and systematic issuesProcess Terminations & ROE issuanceProcess Garnishment ordersProcess recalls, reversals and voidsProcess Year End adjustments and perform validationsMaintain key control and audit documentationDevelop process efficiencies and ongoing process improvementsDocument all payroll processing proceduresException reporting and troubleshootingBalancing semi‑monthly and weekly payrolls – month end & year endSecond level escalation for payroll & time transactionsLiaison with ADP when requiredRespond to internal inquiries from HR and Management and work closely with HCM’s regarding employee data and payroll resultsWork with Payroll Accounting Team on GL variances due to payroll processingSupport Year End activitiesRegistration of payroll tax accountsSupport employees with paystub and access issuesManage gross‑up and shadow payrollsAssist with ad hoc projects and other administrative tasks as assignedWhat You Bring To The Team
Completion of CPA payroll designationSAP HCM & Payroll experienceStrong Technical Skills is a must, the ability to decipher payroll processing errors, correct and resolveDemonstrated ability to analyze, and solve complex problemsAbility to multi‑task and work under extremely tight timelinesPossess a high attention to detail, accuracy, and data integrityProficient in Microsoft Office & Business ObjectsUS and International payroll experience an assetStrong communication skills and organizational skillsAbility to work both independently and as a team in a fast‑paced environmentAecon fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging within and across our organization.
