Manager, Accounting & Client Services
Location : Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid)
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of complex accounting, assurance, and corporate tax files across a varied client portfolio
- Act as a senior technical resource, providing guidance on accounting standards and tax matters
- Lead client engagements from planning through completion, ensuring quality, timeliness, and profitability
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering practical insight on financial reporting and compliance issues
- Supervise, coach, and develop junior team members while maintaining firm quality standards
- Contribute to strengthening client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand service offerings
Qualifications
CPA designation (or near completion)5+ years of progressive experience within a Canadian public accounting environmentStrong hands‑on experience with corporate tax filings (T2) and related planning mattersProven ability to manage assurance engagements, including audits and review engagementsExperience working with owner‑managed businesses and not‑for‑profit entitiesDemonstrated leadership skills with the ability to review work, manage deadlines, and mentor staffClear, professional communication skills and confidence interacting with clientsFamiliarity with industry‑standard accounting and tax tools (e.g., CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks)Accounting & Tax Advisory
Apply in‑depth knowledge of Canadian accounting frameworks, including ASPE and ASNPOManage and review complex corporate tax filings while ensuring compliance and accuracyProvide practical advisory support to clients on reporting, compliance, and tax‑related mattersAssurance & Engagement Leadership
Lead assurance engagements for not‑for‑profit organizations such as healthcare entities, community organizations, and condominium corporationsOversee review engagements for privately held, profit‑oriented businessesPlan engagement timelines, manage budgets, and ensure high‑quality file completionPeople Leadership
