The Faculty of Business and IT at Ontario Tech University has an opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) to join the research team at the Research Excellence Chair in Marketing Analytics and Decision Models.
The successful candidate will work independently under the direct supervision of . The post-doctoral fellowship will have the opportunity to analyze large datasets in marketing.
The position is offered for one year at a salary of $50,000 per year, with the possibility of renewal.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary research team to develop research hypotheses, design data collection strategies, and interpret study results.
- Conduct machine learning and statistical analyses of large marketing datasets (, social media data) to analyze and predict customer reviews and engagement to social media campaigns and other marketing strategies.
- Coordinate research meetings and mentor graduate students.
- Engage in knowledge translation activities.
- Write academic papers and present them for peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals.
Required Education :
in Business Analytics, Operations Research, Management Science, Computer Science, or a related field with a quantitative focus.
Required Experience :
- Demonstrated outstanding research background in Data Analytics or other related fields.
- Familiarity with advertising research.
- Proficiency in using Machine Learning techniques is key.
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (Python is preferred).
- Ability to independently pursue work and collaborate with others to analyze complex issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience in manuscript preparation, publications, and grant proposals.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible, and team-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
