Overview :
Our government client in Regina, SK is looking for a DB2 Database Administrator for an 8-month contract, reference #C19002846.
This position is required to be 60% onsite. Our client is currently looking for a Database Administrator to integrate and support multiple network capital-based projects.
The Database Administrator responsibilities will include managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, with many stakeholders and many complex needs.
The Database Administrator will report to the Manager of Infrastructure Operators and will provide the required decision and project management support to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.
This is a highly visible, busy, and challenging role that will be focused on supporting program application teams projects.
What you will be doing :
Deployment of database solutions
Database storage and capacity planning
Disaster recovery
Day-to-Day database administration and maintenance
Establish and deploy database standards.
Performance monitoring and tuning
Establish and maintain database security.
Configuration, upgrade, and migration
What you must have :
The successful Resource(s) will have the following skills and responsibilities, which include but are not limited to the following for IBM DB2, Oracle and SQL databases :
Be able to work 60% in the Regina Saskatchewan Office
Within the previous five (5) years, has a minimum of two (2) years practical database administration experience and data governance experience.
Experience implementing IBM DB2, Oracle and SQL database solutions.
Experience developing and implementing data strategies, building and documenting data flows from source systems to target Data Warehouse(s)
Experience creating scripts to move data into the target environment to ensure there is consistency in the Data collection.
Experience performing an assessment on the database environment including but not limited to identifying hardware, hardware utilization, licensing, versioning, existing HA solutions, maintenance plans.
Cloud Expertise : Sound knowledge of Microsoft Azure - IaaS and experience in integrating on premises environments with cloud platforms.
Experience in ITIL and Change Management
Project Implementation : Proven track record of implementing network technologies to support organizational projects.
Collaborative Skills : Experience collaborating within multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring cohesive and effective networking solutions.
Enterprise-Level Understanding : Comprehensive understanding of enterprise-level databases to address complex infrastructure needs.
Experience analyzing data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions, while adhering to strict privacy and security governance policies
