Forklift Operator - Order Picker

Adecco is hiring several Forklift Operators experienced with Order Pickers to work for our client in Oshawa! Our client is recognized as one of the world's leading logistics providers.

In this role you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately picking and staging orders for delivery, using a forklift.

This role requires a keen attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and safely, and excellent coordination and organizational skills.

The ideal candidate will have experience in operating forklifts and handling warehouse operations.

• Pay rate : $23.00 / hour (+0.50 shift premium for afternoons)
• Start date : Immediate
• Location : 883 Thornton Road South (Bus Accessible)
• Shifts Available : Sunday to Wednesday 1 : 30 pm to 11 : 30 PM (10 hour shifts)
• Training shifts : 8 : 00am - 4 : 30pm
• Job type : Temporary Full-time, with possibility of contract extension

Responsibilities :

• Accurately pick orders using a forklift, ensuring correct items and quantities are selected based on order specifications.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by updating the warehouse management system with order picking and stock information.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating the forklift and handling materials. Conduct regular equipment checks and report any issues.
• Stage picked orders in designated areas for quality checks and loading onto delivery trucks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the warehouse. Ensure that inventory is properly stored and labeled.
• Inspect items for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the supervisor. Ensure that orders meet quality standards before dispatch.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff, supervisors, and delivery teams to ensure smooth and efficient order fulfillment.
• Complete and maintain accurate records of picked orders, equipment checks, and inventory updates.

Qualifications :

• Minimum 1 to 3 months of related experience is preferred
• High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
• Read fine labels and barcodes, must have attention to detail
• Required to stand, walk, kneel, throughout shift
• Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs
• RF gun experience preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or distribution center.
• Valid forklift operator certification.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to adhering to safety standards and protocols. Knowledge of safety procedures related to forklift operation and warehouse management.
• Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
