The Opportunity :

Our client, a consumer goods company is looking for an Inventory Analyst to join their growing team in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the candidate will be responsible for managing inventory levels, analyzing trends, and developing plans to optimize stock and minimize waste.

Additionally, they will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial analysis to support decision making for the company.

What You’ll Be Responsible For :

  • Monitoring and tracking inventory levels, analyzing trends to forecast future needs
  • Compiling data from multiple sources to prepare reports on inventory levels, trends, and forecasts for senior management
  • Reviewing and reconciling invoices and purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policy
  • Acting as the liaison between internal teams and developing and maintaining relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline inventory management processes
  • Resolving discrepancies between physical inventory and records, as well as resolving issues with damaged or missing inventory
  • Recommending changes to current inventory policies and procedures and identifying opportunities to reduce costs
  • Conducting analysis of product viability to identify trends, recommend solutions, and support decision-making
  • Developing and presenting financial plans, forecasts, and reports to senior management using Excel spreadsheets
  • Conducting research and monitor real time trends on economic indicators such as fluctuation on foreign exchange rates and market trends

The Ideal Candidate :

  • Post Secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 3 years of inventory management or purchasing experience
  • 2 years of financial analysis experience
  • Experience extracting data from an ERP system
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and advanced Excel knowledge (VLOOPUPS, Pivot Tables, IF Statements, Macros)
  • Analytical and highly motivated self-starter
  • Detail oriented problem solver
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced ever-changing environment

Complimentary Experience :

  • Experience working with freight forwarders
  • Experience using NetSuite and Power BI
