Location : Variouslocations across Ontario

Asa Building Inspector you will be responsible for ensuring thatconstruction projects comply with local building codes safetyregulations and zoning laws.

Your role will be crucial inmaintaining the safety and integrity of buildings within thejurisdiction.

KeyResponsibilities :

  • Conductinspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance withlocal building codes zoning laws and safetyregulations.
  • Reviewbuilding plans and blueprints to verify they meet all requiredstandards andcodes.
  • Identifyand document violations defects or discrepancies during inspectionsand recommend correctiveactions.
  • Providetechnical guidance and support to builders contractors and propertyowners regarding compliance issues and buildingregulations.
  • Preparedetailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records ofinspections and enforcementactions.
  • Respondto inquiries from the public contractors and municipal officialsregarding building regulations and inspectionprocedures.
  • Stayupdated on changes in building codes regulations and industrypractices to ensure accurate inspections andrecommendations.
  • Collaboratewith other municipal departments and agencies to addressbuildingrelated issues andconcerns.

Requirements

  • Relevantcertification or diploma in Building Inspection ConstructionTechnology or a relatedfield.
  • Provenexperience as a building inspector or in a related role with astrong understanding of building codes andregulations.
  • Excellentobservational and analytical skills to assess compliance andidentifyissues.
  • Strongcommunication skills for effectively interacting with variousstakeholders and providing clearguidance.
  • Detailorientedwith strong organizational skills to manage inspection reports andrecords.
  • Ability to staycurrent with changes in building codes regulations and industrybestpractices.

Relevant certification or diploma in Building Inspection,Construction Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as abuilding inspector or in a related role, with a strongunderstanding of building codes and regulations.

Excellentobservational and analytical skills to assess compliance andidentify issues. Strong communication skills for effectivelyinteracting with various stakeholders and providing clear guidance.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manageinspection reports and records. Ability to stay current withchanges in building codes, regulations, and industry bestpractices.
