Senior Designer

Ali Budd Interiors is a female-led interior design studio specializing in high-end residential and hospitality projects across North America and internationally. Our work is layered, thoughtful, and deeply intentional. We value ideas over trends and collaboration over individual ego. The studio takes pride in providing a holistic approach to interior design, offering services including space planning, construction documentation, project coordination, custom furniture, millwork, lighting and styling.

Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Designer to join our growing team and lead their own pod of projects inside our studio. This is a leadership role for an experienced designer who is confident working across multiple styles and project types.

Curiosity, flexibility, and a great attitude are just as important as strong design and technical skills.

This is a design-first leadership role.

You will not be buried in procurement or purchasing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a small team of 2-3 designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support
• Lead interior design projects from concept development through installation
• Develop design concepts, layouts, mood boards, renderings, and detailed design packages
• Produce and oversee drawings, specifications, and sourcing
• Coordinate with internal team members, trades, consultants, and vendors
• Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
• Manage timelines, deliverables, project organization, and team workflow
• Participate in site visits, installations, and occasional travel
• Be the primary creative lead for your clients
• Work directly with Ali and Design Director Shawna

This role is for someone who:

• Has a minimum of 7 years of experience in an interior design or architecture firm
• Experience with high-end residential projects (hospitality experience is a plus)
• Has led teams & design development for high-end residential and mixed-use projects
• Has produced and overseen construction documentation
• Has strong technical skills and a refined design eye
• Has managed FF&E selections, specifications, and installations
• Has mentored junior designers
• Is confident, decisive, and detail-driven, working across a wide range of styles
• Has excellent organizational and communication skills
• Loves travel and being on site
• Wants more creative ownership and visibility
• Is positive, professional, and has a solution-oriented attitude
